Drag the weeks. This is the same tank two ways: left alone between the weekends you had time, and on a schedule with someone reading the water.
Nitrate and phosphate are up. Algae has a foothold on the glass and rock.
Tanks fail slowly and then all at once. Nitrate creeps, alkalinity drifts, a pump gets a little louder. Nobody notices for a month, then the coral browns out or the fish start dying. A weekly set of test results is the only early warning there is.
The animals are worth more than the service. A stocked reef holds hundreds to thousands of dollars of coral and fish. One missed problem can cost more than a year of visits, and the animals cannot be replaced by a refund.

Reading the tank as you scroll.
Salinity, pH, nitrate, phosphate, alkalinity and calcium on saltwater. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH and hardness on freshwater. Numbers before opinions.
Saltwater is mixed and brought to your tank's salinity and temperature ahead of time. Freshwater is conditioned. Nothing goes in that could shock the system.
Front and side panels, the rockwork or wood, the sand or gravel. Filters and skimmers get cleaned on their own rotation so bacteria are never wiped out at once.
Flow, temperature, lighting schedule, dosing and controllers. Anything wearing out gets flagged before it fails during a hot week in August.
Eating, breathing, color, behavior. Coral extension. New algae. A tank is a hundred small signals and Jason reads them every visit.

It depends on tank size, saltwater versus freshwater, how often it is visited and what equipment it has. A small freshwater tank on a monthly visit costs far less than a large reef on weekly service. Jason quotes each tank individually and does not sell more visits than a tank needs.
Reef tanks generally do best on a weekly or bi-weekly visit. Freshwater community tanks are usually fine every two to four weeks. Ponds vary by season. Jason recommends a schedule after seeing the tank.
Water testing, a water change with properly prepared water, cleaning of glass, rock, decor and substrate, filter and equipment checks, top-off and a health check on every fish and coral. Anything unusual gets flagged to you before Jason leaves.
Yes. Saltwater is mixed ahead of time and matched to your tank's salinity and temperature so a water change never shocks the system.
Yes. Saltwater reef and fish-only systems, freshwater community tanks, planted aquascapes, cichlid and discus tanks, and ponds are all serviced.
